The Ojibwe people and storytellers speak of an ancient Spider Woman, known as Asibikaashi. She cared for all of the children and people on the land. Ojibwa Nation spread to the corners of North America, making it difficult for her to care for all of the people. So the mothers and grandmothers would weave beautiful webs from natural materials. These webs were know as dreamcatchers; allowing the positive dreams to enter our mind and trapping the bad dreams in the web to disappear with the rise of the sun. These dreamcatchers were to be hanged by a window or at the head of your bed.
Dreamcatcher Yogi has a high respect for the history of dreamcatchers and what they mean to the Ojibwa people. We are not trying to claim traditional form, but instead we are creating from our hearts a new school version. Each dreamcatcher is 100% deliberately handmade with the best vibes.
14 Blue Jasper Beads have been strung in the webbing for stimulation of the Vishuddha (throat) Chakra. Connecting you further to your expressive self, reinforcement of communication, speech and healing. Ride her waves to free your self expression.
Aprox. 14 inches wide / 38 inches long
Recommended Care for Dreamcatcher
~Keep your dreamy dry, water will compromise the integrity of the cord and could potentially damage the beads/stones
~Avoid intentional pulling or tugging
~If your dreamy becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth. If necessary you may use a soft damp cloth, but avoid soaking
Suggested Cleansing for Dreamcatcher
*Your Dreamy is meant to catch negative/bad dreams in its webbing/ring. It is important to cleanse your dreamcatcher, to renew its positive presence. How frequent you cleanse is entirely up to the owner. Cleansing your dreamcatcher can look many different ways....
~Smudging/Incense/Palo Santo: Smudge sticks are bundles of dried herbs. Herbs and scent of incense are of your preference.
~Natural Light: Sun or Moon light is a natural way of recharging your dreamcatcher's energy. You can lay it directly in your choice of natural light or in a window that has access to the natural light.
~Sound: Singing bowls, gongs, chimes, bells, etc.
